Whether we are greedy or not, everyone needs to eat. And we each have our own preferences, and animals are no different!

They eat according to their needs, their desires, their environment... Each species follows its own diet!

All summer long, birds gorge themselves on fruit, seeds or insects to face the winter. There are those who cope with the climate as best they can and those who fly to warmer countries. They need energy and time to cross seas and deserts! the seas and deserts! Some travel alone, others in formation. And off they go! Six months later, the aerial ballet starts again but in the other direction. A swallow springs again under our roofs... the storks return to lay their eggs in Alsace! All year long, seasons pass by, and the weather changes, just like our activities and clothes! Summer in shorts, sandals, and a cap on the head: we observe the lizard sleeping in the sun, we swim, we enjoy the nice weather and summer joys. Then comes fall, and the yellowing leaves fall down. In the first rain, we put on a coat and boots to jump in the puddles! In the winter, everything becomes white, the trees are naked when we're all wrapped up in our jackets with scarves, gloves, and beanies. Finally, spring slowly warms up nature, buds, and then flowers appear, at the same time as light clothes!

To each season its pleasures!

Tout en haut et tout en bas de la Terre, il existe un monde à part où règne un froid glacial ! Le paysage est tout blanc la majeure partie de l'année. Ce sont les pôles.

Mais attention à ne pas les confondre : dans le Grand Nord, avec la fonte des neiges au printemps, la nature reprend des couleurs.

Au pôle Sud, seul le manchot est assez équipé pour faire face à l'hiver austral. Les autres animaux préfèrent vivre sous l'eau. Il fait tout aussi froid, mais il y a plus de compagnie.

It's raining... water and frogs are best friends! Its smooth skin that differentiates it from its cousin the toad, makes her a true swimming champion! But careful, not all of them live in the water. Even if we often imagine frogs croaking by their pool, some of them prefer the forests' mildness. To spend winter safely, some of them are capable of changing their temperature and heart rate! During love season, they sing loudly before mating. The female lays her eggs underwater. Soon, the tadpoles live in the pool. The legs come out of their body, the tail disappears, and there! The frogs hop out of the water.

Which animal has one foot and four noses? The snail! This little gastropod is full of surprises. As soon as it rains, the snail gets out... to gorge itself on water. That's how it makes its drool that allows it to crawl everywhere: horizontally but also vertically. If its two small eyes are not very useful, its four noses guide it easily to food. During love season, no need to look for a female or male, snails are both at the same time!

Where comes rainwater from? From clouds of course! But, where goes rainwater? It runs down, or seeps into the ground, or forms puddles and pools. By passing by, it waters the plants; it keeps running down. The stream goes to the rivers, which go to the sea. And why doesn't the sea overflow? Because part of its water evaporates. The puddles too evaporate, and the plants sweat. All the water that evaporates goes to the sky, and the clouds get bigger... The water cycle goes again!

After summer's heat and abundance, the forest, meadow, and mountain animals, when replete, begin to prepare their comfy nest for the upcoming winter. And to each their method.

In spring, Ladybug drops her eggs in a leaf. A few days later, a yellow and grey larva comes out. But, where are the wings, the shell, the red, and the dots? They'll appear later! For now, the larva needs to eat. The more it eats, the more it grows, then it changes skin color... until the final metamorphosis. And, surprise! All the ladybugs do not wear red and black! Coquette these ladybugs!
