Extrait du livre 52 - Moko : The real end of the world...
The real end of the world... by Arnaud de Buchy, Sonia Grandame and Joachim Hérissé published by Le Regard Sonore
While the first light of dawn caressed the peaks of the high trees, Moko prepared for his final journey. As she stared off into the horizon, Totemie's eyes filled with tears. "Don't cry", Moko said. "Here, take the most precious thing that I have. They will ensure that we will see each other again one day…" And with that, he gave her Mei-Li's rock, and Alarick's flute. Totemie walked into the forest, in silence.
Moko was at last ready to leave when suddenly, Totemie reappeared holding in her hands a bundle of tied leaves. "This is what I hold most valuable. But you must promise me not to open this gift until you have reached the end of the world."
As Moko paddled out to sea, he allowed a single tear to rolled on his cheek.
By nightfall, Moko found himself paddling along a mountainous coastline. The sea rose up. A barrier of waves appeared in front of him, pulling him more and more out towards the open sea. The wind started to roar and Moko screamed: "Ocean, clouds and winds, I am ready this time, guide me to the end of the world."
Then Moko stood up straight, as strong as the storm itself and as confident as he ever had been before. The elements burst out all around him, day after day, night after night… But Moko never backed down. Then the sea tired... And Moko found that he could sleep at last. Slowly, his boat came to rest on a familiar beach.
